Van Ceiling
I knew exactly what I wanted in this van conversion for the ceiling from the beginning: a dark ceiling and white walls. The cedar planks I ended up using are insect and mildew resistant which I thought was a win-win, but they also was easy to stain and very lightweight. I decided to use 1/4 inch cedar planks for my ceiling and ended up staining them because I wanted them to be a bit darker. These cedar planks come in packages of 6 which make it a fairly inexpensive approach. Similar to the walls, I ended up just screwing the wood to metal screws through the wood into the ribs of the van ceiling. Thinking back, I probably would've added wooden battens to create a better structure to adhere to, because it was hard to get the planks to conjoin on some of the curved parts. Alas, it ended up looking pretty darn great.
I stained the ceiling planks with Varathane Walnut Wood Stain, which was messy as heck, but worth it. I wanted very dark ceiling planks with white walls and the end result was fantastic. In hindsight, I probably would've stained the planks first before doing it once they were adhered, but, what can ya do.Just buy some rubber gloves and shop towels and you're good to go.
There are so many different options for Fantastic Fans, it really depends on your needs and budget. I went with the least expensive, simplest option and I haven't regretted it. The Fantastic Roof Vent Fan is pretty phenomenal in terms of circulating fresh air through the van. I didn't need all the bells and whistles, but just needed something in the kitchen to draw some of the heat and humidity out.

I ended up framing out my ceiling windows with some strips of poplar from Home Depot. This was kinda a pain in the ass and I used a lot of 3M VHB tape to help outfit it all. While it isn't a perfect framing job, and the perfectionist in me was screaming, I ended up liking it once everything was pulled together.
