So, you may have already gotten a glimpse of our fantastic new Pogamat on Instagram. When the weather was great in Austin, we decided to take her for a spin and let me tell you, this mat is unreal. Hands down the best yoga mat we've ever used. First, I bet you're wondering what the heck a Pogamat even is. A Pogamat is a large, sometimes super large, exercise mat ideal for yoga or Pilates workouts. But let's be honest, it's really ideal for any workout needing a rugged exercise mat. It's an ultra cool, super slip-resistant, thick mat that rolls right up and stashes away perfectly. It's not your average mat. In fact, it's twice the thickness of a standard yoga mat. The denser material of the mat really helps for increased stability during certain yoga poses. The rounded edges prevent any annoying peel up, or awkward mat shifts during your workout. But wait, if that wasn't enough info to have you jumping to cop your own, then this might seal the deal... The Pogamat comes in an XXL size!!! What this means is that Vanessa and I can practice simultaneously on the same mat, with enough room to transition through our poses next to each other. We recently broke out the mat for a 7-Day Yoga challenge, paired with some jump rope and kettle bell circuit training. Unfortunately, the drop in temperature in Austin prevented us from doing yoga any further, but we're hoping once we get out into the middle of nowhere soon, we'll be breaking out the Pogamat once again. We feel that if you're a serious yoga-enthusiast, or use a mat often during your workouts, this is an investment you need to make. There's nothing flimsy about this material. It's bacteria-resistant, and so durable. Barefoot or with shoes, it doesn't matter. What used to irk me about yoga mats prior, was that when you sweat, your mat gets slippery and gross. There's no balance and you can't maintain your posture. With Pogamat, that doesn't happen. There's no slipping! It's glorious. Also, we HIGHLY suggest, make sure you purchase the accompanying strap, so that carrying the mat is a cinch. These bad boys may be a bit heavy compared to the crappy ones you're used to, so that strap works wonders. Can't wait to get back into the yoga groove once we hit warmer weather. Until then...Namaste! Please note: We were not financially compensated for this post. We received a sample for review purposes. However, the opinions are completely our own based on our personal experiences with the products. We only choose to review products and brands that we love.
